1. The reSurgence New York Conference
The AFRICAN GLOBAL NETWORKS (a Nonprofit company working on the UN sustainable development
agenda) and the Durban ICC in association with NEW YORK CHRISTIAN TIMES under the leadership of
Reverend Dennis Dillon (based in New York, USA), hereby announces the participation of a prominent
South African delegation to a business conference in Harlem called: The Resurgence conference.
The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, JP Morgan Chase, The New York
Christian Times, and all the co-conveners, partners including the AFRICAN GLOBAL
NETWORKS NPC responsible for convening the Southern Africa, will present in the
South Africa –United States and Africa reSURGEnce conference to be held in Harlem
New York at the Riverside Church on 16th -19th November 2023. The Forum will be
held alongside the Honourable Eric Adams, Mayor of the City of New York; Regional
Director for the U.S Small Business Administration, Marlene Centron and many key
government agencies, corporations, faith, and community institutions.
The conference will be hosted by President Dr Vincent Boudreau and City College of New York.
The reSURGEnce Conference 2023 is a crucial event that seeks to highlight the status of Black
Businesses in New York, Africa, America, and globally. It celebrates and promotes successful
entrepreneurs within this community while providing critical resources for those who need them most.
This conference offers an unparalleled opportunity to discuss ways we can strengthen our economy,
create jobs and close racial wealth gaps once and for all.
With the recent appointment of MR. WISEMAN MKHIZE as the new Southern African Regional Director
for The Resurgence, the goal has been to establish trade relations and progressive investment talks
between the government on twin sister city agenda, small business development and opening
corridors of trade between Africa and the US for better trade (imports/ exports agenda).
The South African delegation to this conference is comprising of important players such as senior
leadership of the likes of EThekwini Municipality to be led by the EXCO member, the Chairperson of the
Economic Development and Planning- Councillor Thembubuhle Ntuli, the City Manager with his senior
economic cluster senior officials; Umvoti Municipality to be led Mayor Philani Mavundla, the Deputy
Mayor and Municipal Manager as well as the Durban ICC board representatives to be led by CEO, Ms.Lindiwe Rakharebe.
This conference will reciprocate its hosting as the Durban ICC is the venue of choice for the Africa leg
in July 2024 (carefully chosen to also highlight the 30 years of democracy for South Africa). This leg will
see South Africa hosting between 150- 200 delegates from across the US, and the Caribbean’s.
This is an important milestone on the GDP and value exchange for South Africa in sectors such as
SMME development, hospitality value chain and investment.
The New York Christian Times is a global network that currently brings together governments and
networks of governments, organizations and networks of social economy. The purpose is for
collaboration between government and civil society networks.
Additionally, this reSURGEnce conference is bringing together other cities in the States and
government leaders to facilitate key exchanges on trade, investments, opportunities for exchange
programmes and economic development opportunities. Diverse business, clergy and community
leaders are also valued participants in these important conversations discussing housing, economic
development, growth and expansion, city planning, infrastructure, tourism, and other key topics.
Members of the media, I am also excited and proud to announce MR NAY MAPS (Nkosinathi Maphalala) as our NEW BRAND AMBASSADOR. Maphalala is a renowned actor from the famous DSTV telenovela UMkhokha, a young entrepreneur and musician of note. His biography and steady public image speak for itself, and I must hasten to add that this was a major decider in the company choosing him as an associate to our growing brand in the space of sustainable development.
AFRICAN GLOBAL NETWORKS as a Non- Profit company headquartered in South Africa whose aim is to
work on supporting and fast tracking the programmes of multi- governments in the area of socioeconomic development. Formed and inspired by the appointment of Mr. Wiseman Mkhize by United
Nations (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), UNFCCC accredited
International Association for the Advancement of the Innovative Approaches to Global Challenges
(IAAI/ GloCha) from New York- USA as the South African Ambassador for United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals (SDG’s) specializing on sustainable development and cross-sectoral approach to
climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies- our vision has always been about harvesting a
diverse team to be part of a professional vehicle aimed at carrying the vision of the United Nations
through non- government stakeholder sector. Therefore,
Appointing NAY MAPS as our brand ambassador is a critical development since he will be charged
with a responsibility of working directly with youth on the development agenda holistically.

Amongst speakers will be global mayors, former presidents and vice presidents, investors and presidents
of various business chambers. Notable, the Mayor of New York City Eric Adams will share podium with
the South African delegation which will also be represented on the speakers list.
